NOTICE OF RACE
1. OCCASION AND ROYAL TROPHIES
Hua Hin Regatta 2017 is the annual sailing events that have been organized since the year 2000 inhonor of In remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej sailing legacy will be
organized as a competition for several Royal Trophies, namely:
: Royal Vega Rudder trophy for varies classes from His Majesty the King.
: Super Mod National Championship trophy from His Majesty the King.
: OK dinghy National Championship trophy from Her Majesty the Queen.
: Princess Cup for Optimist Championship from HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana.
2. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY
The Organizing Authority is Yacht Racing Association of Thailand (YRAT), in conjunction with the Royal Thai Navy, Tourist Authorities of Thailand, Cha-Am Municipality and Phetchaburi Province.
3. RULES
The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020, the Class Rules of respective classes and The Sailing Instructions.
4. ADVERTISING
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
5. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
5.1 Entries are open to all members of clubs affiliated to YRAT, individual members of YRAT and members of Clubs and MNA as invited.
5.2 Boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it to Regatta secretariat before 9 April or On-site from 19 April.
5.3 The entry fee is Baht 1,500 (USD 50) per person.
6. EVENT & CLASSIFICATION
6.1 Thailand National Championship 2017 (Thai National only) Super Mod, OK and Platu.
6.2 Thailand Open Championship 2017 Optimist, Laser, 420, 470, Hobie 16/ Catamaran,
Platu and Keel Boat.
6.3 Royal Vega Rudder Championship Laser, 420, 470, Hobie 16/Catamaran, Platu and
Keel Boat.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available at the registration.
9. VENUE
The venue is at Cha-Am beach, in front of The Regent Cha-Am Beach Resort, Phetchaburi Province, about 190 kilometers south of Bangkok and about 16 Kilometers from central Hua Hin.
10. COURSES
10.1 The Championship courses will be trapezoid / windward-Leeward. Except Optimist class will
be IODA Course.
10.2 Vega Rudder Championship course will be long distance course.
11. PENALTY SYSTEM
11.1 For Hobie 16/Catamaran Platu and Keel boat, rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changes so that
only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
11.2 Decisions of the jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5.
12. SCORING
12.1 The Low point System will apply for the Championship events.
12.2 For the Royal Vega Rudder Championship the Portsmouth Yardstick Handicap
system will apply.
12.3 Four races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta.
13. CHARTERED BOATS
A limited number of boats and equipment of all classes will be available for charter on a “first come first serve” basis. Self-provided boats and equipment are allowed and are subjected to measurement. The charter fees are as follows:
Optimist USD 60 (2,000 Baht)
Super Mod USD 80 (2,400 Baht)
OK USD 80 (2,400 Baht)
Laser USD 100 (3,000 Baht)
420/470 USD 120 (3,600 Baht)
Hobie 16/Catamaran USD 150 (5,000 Baht)
Farr Platu 25 USD 800 (30,000 Baht)
A damage deposit of USD 100 (Platu USD 300) is required and will be returned if no damage.
14. PRIZES
14.1 Beside the Royal Trophies, additional prizes may be rewarded according to entry numbers.
14.2 Replicas of the Perpetual Vega Rudder Royal Trophy will be presented to the winner and five runner-up boats.
15. TRANSPORTATIONS
15.1 From and to Suvarnabhumi International Airport:
Taxis and Airport Express busses between the airport and major hotels in Bangkok Including Bangkok Central Railway Station (Hua Lamphong) and Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal are available. Direct meter taxis between the airport and the regatta venue in Cha-Am district is also available.
15.2 There are 12 trains of the State Railway of Thailand between Bangkok Central Railway Station and Cha-Am Railway Station daily.
15.3 Several bus services daily between Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal and Cha-Am Bus Station.
15.4 There will be shuttle bus between venue and central Hua Hin-Cha-Am on the official day.
16. ACCOMMODATION
Cha-Am District and Hua Hin District is a famous and popular seaside and tourist resort on the western coast of the Gulf of Thailand. There is great variety of accommodation facilities ranging from luxurious 5-star hotels to comfortable guest houses, with prices ranging from approximately USD 25 to USD 200 per night. The Regent Cha-Am Beach Resort at Cha-Am Beach Phetchaburi Province, the venue of the Regatta, has also a limited accommodation with a price of Thai Baht 2,700 net per night at The Regent Cha-Am Beach Resort Hotel and Thai Baht 2,000 net per night at The Regent Chalet Hotel. The rates are inclusive of tax, service charge and Buffet Breakfast and room reservation will be made through Yacht Racing Association of Thailand (YRAT) before the date on 20 March 2015, Relevant details may be found in the website :
